CAPA provides a controlled way to investigate problems, determine appropriate actions, assign responsibilities, follow completion and evaluate whether actions achieved the intended result. CAPA can be triggered by nonconformities, complaints, incidents, audits or other quality signals.
Why it matters
CAPA is one of the clearest examples of why quality processes should be connected: an audit finding or incident should be able to lead into investigation, action and effectiveness review without losing context.
