Definition
An Information Security Management System (ISMS) is a structured management system for governing information-security risks, responsibilities, policies, controls, evidence and continual improvement. It provides the organizational framework behind standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and helps ensure that information-security requirements are managed consistently rather than as isolated technical measures.
